  • 15 weeks in 6 :S ... Half way through.....

Ok so it has been a long time

Currently, I am not paying attention in class because it is boring me to tears. It is International Tourism II. As if the first version of the class wasn't bad enough, the teachers seem bound to torture us with more useless information. Both teachers were given the courses with no outlines or guidelines as to what was to be taught or how it was to be done. So they both made up a booklet of information that they thought would be useful and wasted $50 of our money each time and so far I haven't touched either booklet.

I am also finishing up my 3rd week of a 6 week semester. Sound great right? Don't be so sure! Fortunately it is only 3 courses long. Unfortunately, you spend twice as much time in the classes each week and midterm tests... start TOMORROW. So there's 30% in the next couple days, and then by the end of next week our 30% assignments are due, the week after our 10% assignments and then reading week. this makes no sense to me seeing as reading week is RIGHT before the last week which is exam week. Ridiculous! But however I might share my complaints with the cyber world, it shall not change the way things have been going in this program. But it feels better to rant about it then to actually take it out on the teachers, especially sine they have the influence on my marks :P

Not really too much has changed sine the last time I have updated. I have turned 20 as of 6 days ago. Thanks Em for welcoming me to "biddy-hood" but unfortunately I think I will never reach this state. I think by the time I reach 40, I STILL won't even feel, let alone act, my age. I'm going to be the crazy mom and grandma that takes the kids out to Wonderland and rides rollercoasters with them till they get sick!!

At this time I think I should start paying attention. Partially because I am paying to "learn" (as they would like to call all this review they are doing...), and partially because my teacher is spontaneously deciding to assign a project for tomorrow worth 5%. My life just keeps getting better by the minute. (kidding!!)

Surprisingly, I am really happy despite my workload. And I shall keep remembering this as I continue to plod on through the weeks till the end. I'll see you all on the other side of being a college student!!

  • 3 weeks to go...

    Hey

So it is now 3 weeks left until the end of my semester. And believe it or not I am actually get ing alot of stuff done and caught up for the rest of the summer. I need to still finish off my essays for next week and the week after but that shouldn't take me long at all.

I have completed the 2 workbooks I was supposed to have done about 3 years ago :S They didn't really have the time to develop me then and now I am happy they are taking the time. The only thing I worry about is the verifications I have to pass in order to go. Although, they are spending the time and money to do this for me so I suppose they have to pass me :p

Not too much else is happening, besides the fact I should be paying attention in class :p... I suppose I should go then...

  • UPDATE <3

It has been way too long! I should have updated this a long time ago. I havn't even looked at what i last wrote about so I suppose I shall start with April. In April I officailly finished my first year of college. Yet I seemed to be having so much fun that I have gone back for a summer semester. Now I am sitting in class and I only have 4 weeks left!! Time seems to be flying by and I am sitting along for the ride. In two months I will be sittin in Class fulltime again and waiting to finish another semester.

In May I witnessed Andrea profess her faith and in June I did the same. Also in May, the same day as Andrea's Profession, Serena was abptozed. Wish you all could see her! She is getting soo big!! Unfortunately I am only able to see her about once a month.

So right now, I am going to school about 16 hours a week and working about 42 hours a week. So as you can imagine I am tired and ready for summer to start, which for me is July 26th. In August I am attending SMC which is a shift management course at work. I am exctied because I was supposed to do this 2 years ago and they are finally taking the time to develop me now.

After class today I am working 2-9 and then am driving straight down to Dunnville all in one night. Tomorrow morning Emily is leaving from Buffalo airport to go to Kentucky for the summer. So with her and Harold gone Andrea and I are going to have to find some time to spend together to pass the time. We shall see what the summer will bring.

Right now future plans bring a house with Emily and Andrea, but that isn't until NEXT summer. We will have to wait and see. Right now we are coming up with a list of what we have and see what we will need for our new house. Anything you  want to get rid of by next year let me know cause we will probably want to take it off your hands!!! That's about it for now. I'll let you know how the semester ends and SMC goes hopefully :P

  • The Adventures of Reading Week

OK so I promised when I had time I would up date you as to my adventures.

Well reading week certainly was one. I worked Monday, meeting all day Wed (8-430) and then get this... Overnights on Wednesday night!!! So when i go home 7AM Thursday morning I took a 4 hour nap and headed out to Beamsville for the weekend. Emily was thrilled, weren't you Em? It was a good weekend. Em and I went to Charles Daley. It was very pretty. We met up with Andrea and Serena and had lotsa fun. Good thing they kinda kept and eye on me at Michaels or I would have come home with half the store!!! We went out for dinner at Kelsey's and Rena was amazing! She ate before the food came and then was asleep the whole time we ate. She's our good little girl.

On friday we slept till 1 cause we had been up talking till 1AM the night before. I haven't slept in that much in forever! It was amazing. We then split the leftover piece of bruchetta for breakfast. It actually wasn't half bad :P. We made pizza and cupcakes that afternoon. That evening Teri, Marsha, Janine, Andrea and Serena all came to Em's. They played a cool game. I forget the name and how to play but it was interesting.

Saturday I headed over to Andrea's. Andrea and I were at Nick's House playing Guitar Hero and the booked it to the Dutch store in Burlington. We made it 15 min before it closed. Poor Emily called us as we were on our way to Burlington so instead of picking her up in 45 min it took about an hour and a half. And it didn't help Serena was crying in the back because mommy forgot her soother :(

Sunday we went to Dunnville church. That afternoon we went to Port Maitland and Andrea and I went Surfing and Water walking. It was so beautiful!!! The pier was completely iced over. Emily even saw 2 polar bears!!! She was out picture recorder this weekend :)

That just about sums it up.

About Me

  • "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality... ~Romans 12: 9-20
